This summer reminded us why we do this. Every stage brought a different room, a different pulse, and another chance to take songs we love somewhere they had not been before. We played for people who already knew the turns, people hearing us for the first time, and plenty of folks who simply followed the sound in from a summer night.
A season built on the room
The best part of a run of shows is seeing how much the music changes when the room changes. A groove can settle in fast. A chorus can pull everyone closer. A quiet moment can make the next lift feel even bigger. Those are the decisions that cannot be rehearsed into a fixed set list. They happen because the band is listening, the crowd is leaning in, and everyone gives the song a little more space.
We felt that all summer. From the first count-in to the last note, each show gave us a new reason to keep pushing the music forward. We are grateful for every familiar face who came back out, every new listener who stopped to stay awhile, and every host who gave us a place to make some noise.

Picklesburgh, Pittsburgh, and a stage full of gratitude
Playing Picklesburgh was a genuine summer highlight. Taking the Turners Music Stage in Downtown Pittsburgh put us right in the middle of a city celebration with its own joyful, slightly offbeat energy. It was one of those moments that makes you look around, take it in, and feel lucky to be part of the local music community.
We brought the same thing we bring to every CEC set: songs people can step into, room for the band to take a chance, and enough drive to keep the day moving. The festival setting gave it all a little extra lift. Pittsburgh showed up ready to have fun, and we were more than happy to meet that energy note for note.

The moments we will carry forward
There is no single photograph that captures a season. What stays with us are the smaller flashes: a bandmate catching an idea without a word, an audience reaction at just the right time, a song opening up when nobody expected it to. Those are the moments that make a live show feel less like a performance and more like a shared conversation.
That is exactly what we want to keep building. CEC will always bring the songs, the deep grooves, and the willingness to see where a night goes. But the audience completes the circuit. Summer gave us a lot to celebrate, and it gave us even more excitement for the rooms and festivals still ahead.

Come catch the next one

Frequently asked questions
Where did CEC play at Picklesburgh?
Clyde's Electric Chalkboard played the Turners Music Stage at Downtown Pittsburgh's Picklesburgh festival.
Do CEC shows follow the same set list every night?
No. Familiar songs give each show a starting point, then the band follows the room, the groove, and the musical conversation from there.
Where can I find CEC's next show?
The Shows page has the current dates, venues, and show details. It is the best place to see where the band is headed next.
